About Andrew Phelps
Andrew Phelps is a WBUR reporter and the host of Hubbub, a new blog about Boston.

Cookie, my beloved black and white English Springer Spaniel of 11 years, was put down today. She had become very ill.
The circumstances surrounding her death are complicated. But Cookie left the earth in peace, something she deserved.
I am too tired and too heartbroken to write any more.
This entry refers to an event that occurred on 8 October 2005.

cookie was such a sweet hearted girl. She loved everyone and loved her family most. COOOOOOKAYAAYYYYAYYYAYYAYYYYY. She snored horrible and she was a bed hog. I am sorry for your loss. pets bring light, love and laughter to our lives and it is a sad truth that we will out live them. her memory is with many of us through your beautiful photographs.
Sorry to see that Andrew.
that picture is too cute for words. just think, maybe she and Felos are chillin together.
I’m so sorry….
:(
Cookie was easily one of the most loving dogs I have ever met. Jealous, yes, but only because she wanted more of your love. I’ll always have the fondest memories of her and her wonderful ability to clear the room in a bulldozer-style charge to the closest hand when she wanted a petting.
sorry to hear about your doggie :(
keep your chin up

So sorry! You know me and dogs — I understand. I tell you — life — it is kicking our asses!
Sorry for your loss, Andrew…
“Dogs are our link to paradise. They don’t know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring – it was peace.”
