For the last 13 weeks, I have written a series of personality profiles for the Business section of the North County Times, as part of an effort to attract more readers to the section. So far, we think, it has worked.

The series is called “Behind the Desk”, and it features local CEOs who have either found big success or at least have big dreams. It runs every Thursday.

Today’s profile is about Neil Hokanson, the very interesting president of Hokanson Capital Management in Solana Beach.

It is also my last CEO profile for quite some time. I leave for Europe in just 20 days, and I’m handing off the series to a new writer while I’m gone. (I plan to pick it up again when I return to San Diego in August.)
