Okay….then the word “iterate” should be used to restate a comment or question and “reiterate” would be used when you express it the third time.

No. “Iterate” should be used in every case. “Reiterate” has been used to mean the exact same thing as “iterate” and has become an acceptable replacement.
Do you disagree that repeat means to say something again?
