Must I repeat myself?
If you say the same thing three times, you’re only repeating it twice — not three times.
> Pete and Repeat were in a boat. Pete jumped out. Who was left?
> Repeat.
> Pete and Repeat were in a boat. Pete jumped out. Who was left?
Okay….then the word “iterate” should be used to restate a comment or question and “reiterate” would be used when you express it the third time.
Chuck,
No. “Iterate” should be used in every case. “Reiterate” has been used to mean the exact same thing as “iterate” and has become an acceptable replacement.
Do you disagree that repeat means to say something again?
No, I do not disagree…. Yes, I do agree.
The department of redundancy department called, they would like to set up a pre-meeting before the meeting that you have set up with the department of redundancy department on Wendesday.
That… is horrible. All of it… horrible. Just horrible.
