Hi everyone,
My name is Kenny Rodriguez, the son of Manuel Rodriguez~Esparra. My father is first cousins with Rafael Esparra. Which would make me a second cousin. I’m so surprised that this man was such a horrible father because my father has always been there. I just called Ricardo and we will speak later on and hopefully keep in touch. But I am also interested in somehow getting to know some of you. I came across this forum in doing some family research. Me and my father have been doing this for an amount of years and we discovered that our family was Jewish. We can trace it through my grandfather and my grandmother (who was an Esparra). The family supposedly converted to Catholism out of fear of persecution some time ago, but the info I found was vague and I’m very interested in speaking with anyone who can shed some light on this side of the family. well i decided to google my fathers name because i was bored today and i knew something would show up so when i clicked on this URL i was suprised to see that other family members (esparra’s) had coem across it and commented to each other. the first person who commented, ricardo, is my older brother,my name is alex. im 17 and i live in chappaqua, new york with my mother. i am rafael esparra’s youngest child, or at least i think i am, god knows how many children that man has, lol. well anyway i always knew that my father had two other children besides me and my brother but i thought the girls name was stephanie?…does that mean that you (mary) are another one of his children? well this is very suprising but cool. i know a few family memebers of my father but have never met him personally, well i have but i was a baby, so that kinda doesnt count. as for tony i have heard of you before because i beleive u have met my brother before when we lived upstate..correct? well either way i cant beleive that we all found each other! if u guys want, u can email or IM me at greeley1688@aol.com. ttyl

well i am so happy that i have come in contact with my family and thank u for the intrest in meeting me. i would be very thrilled to meet my other family because it has been a great effect in my life. i live in sarasota and i have a beautiful palce by the beach with 2 jet skiis. i would love to gather a family reunion when ever u guys want. but if u can please give me a call at 941-592-9077.

To all the Esparras’ Ricardo is my cousin I know this guy since I was a baby he is like my brother. He is a wonderful father to his children unlike his dad. Ricardo lives in Florida and is a very well established business man. I know for a fact that he would be honored to meet you Mary.

Your father and my father Antonio were first cousins. I guess that makes us second or third cousins. I read what you guys wrote and I it made me very sad that someone in our family could do such a thing as abanding their children. I don’t understand how he can do that. I have four kids of my own and they are my life.
I hope that one day we can get together, meet and have a family reunion.

Rafael I only remember seeing you once. I recently became a mom. I have a four mth old daughter. She is your grandchild and hope that you somehow read this and respond.

I was researching a web site and I found it pretty interesting the Rafael Esparra is a person that would actually be caring enough to sponsor and help with the charity of orphaned children.
My name is Ricardo Esparra and I am the son of Rafael Esparra, the Chief Commissioner of the New York Fire Department. I only met him about 3-4 time in my life ,and the time I spoke to him or met him was for not more than 3-4 hours. the last time I saw him was about 1 year ago when my mother was driving on Montrose ave and my mother pointed out his apartment. I immediately told her to stop and let me out . I walked slowly to the front of his 6 family apartment and walked upstairs and knocked on the door all because I thought I had the right to know why he never looked for me. when he opened the door i looked at him and he looked at me . I said hi and he said hi . I asked him if I could talked to him for a quick miniute,and he said ( WAIT FOR ME DOWN STAIRS). I was so shocked that I just decided to wait. he came down about 5 minutes later and started to talk about what happen between him and my mother and how she told him that she could not get pregnant . I was so much in tears that I waked away. but that’s ok. I guess i just was not meant to have a father. I just wanted to write this letter because he is in no position to be involved with orphaned children . every now and then I cry my eyes off at night wondering if I did something wrong or is it just because he is scared. I guess I will never find out. I am a 23 year old man that lives in Florida with my girl friend and my new born daughter OLIVIA GRACE ESPARRA,and my boy BLAKE ESPARRA
I hope he gets this message and that maybe he can change he way of life a little bit and meet his grand children that I will never ever abandon . I just don’t understand why a man like him walks around saying that he is a man when he does not know how to look for his own kids.
I want to thank you for taking the time to read my letter and hopefully I can get a response from him or his friends.
